About the Role
Responsible for providing tractor support that will ensure efficient freight movement of all commodities through the HUB. Support operational requirement drive and operate Forklift, Transport Lifter or Light Vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Collect and transport cargo to various airside locations paying attention to items that require specialist handling (DG / VAL / PER / COU / AVI / Mail) to be carried out in line with operational procedures, safety and security.
- Carry out Pre Trip vehicle inspections and report on serviceability of equipment.
- Support accurate recording of freight locations to approach the right flight based on operational requirement.
- Carry out safe working practices in order to eliminate mishandling, incidents and accidents.
- Implementation and awareness of Special Handling Products including Perishable and Pharmaceutical products.
- Drive and Operate equipment to be in line with company Health and Safety guidelines.
- Ensure that all transported shipments are handled in line with company and departmental SOPs.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed b the Head of the Department.
Qualification
About You
Essential
- Holder of valid Airport Vehicle Operation Permit (AVOP) OR Home Country Light Vehicle License.
- Holding or able to obtain Qatari Driving Light License.
- Command of English language
- Familiar with operating aviation and logistics GSE.
- Awareness of good safety practices and be able to comply with company and departmental SOPs.
- Knowledge of Cargo Handling procedures and regulations.
- Attend and qualify the mandatory training course.
- Be able to work with minimum supervision, unpredictable climate conditions and shift work with varying working hours to fit the operational requirement.
